Environment:

Occurs as a rare secondary mineral in the oxidized zone of a hydrothermal polymetallic barite-fluorite deposit (Clara mine, Germany).

IMA Status:

Approved IMA 1992 (Dana # Added)

Locality:

Found in the Clara mine, near Oberwolfache, and the Michael mine, Weiler, near Lahr, Black Forest, Germany. Link to MinDat.org Location Data.

Name Origin:

For its "arsenic" content and relation to "gorceixite."
