Afghanite: (Na,Ca,K)8(Si,Al)12O24(SO4,Cl,CO3)3·(H2O)

Comments: Stubby hexagonal dark blue afghanite crystal to 2cm set in sulfide rich marble. The dark blue color is just a thin veneer on a pale-blue crystal.
Location: Rabot, Sar-e-Sang Dist., Badakshan, Afghanistan. Scale: Overall: 5 x 2 x 4 cm.

Agardite-(Y): (Y,Ca)Cu6(AsO4)3(OH)6·3(H2O)

Comments: Fibrous to fine acicular green micro crystals of agardite-(Y) (chlorotile) to 1mm.
Location: Clara mine, Wolfach, Schwarzwald, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Scale: Picture size 0.5 cm.

Aguilarite: Ag4SeS

Comments: Black, bladed, metallic aguilarite crystals in matrix.
Location: 4th of July mine, Custer Co., Idaho, USA. Scale: Crystal length 3 mm.

Ajoite: (K,Na)3Cu20Al3Si29O76(OH)16·~8(H2O)

Comments: Aqua blue, long bladed crystals or ajoite on matrix.
Location: New Cornelia mine, Pima Co., Arizona, USA. Scale: Crystal size 0.75 mm.

Akrochordite: Mn4Mg(AsO4)2(OH)4·4(H2O)  
Eveite: Mn2(AsO4)(OH)

Comments: Micro crystals (to about 0.75mm) of very pale grayish green eveite in tiny vug with light pink akrochordite. Co-Type specimen & type locality.
Location: Langban, Varmland, Sweden. Scale: 13x10x4 mm.

Aldermanite: Mg5Al12(PO4)8(OH)22·32(H2O)  
Minyulite: KAl2(PO4)2(OH,F)·4(H2O)

Comments: White, blocky aldermanite crystals to 2mm completely covering one face of matrix with colorless prismatic Minyulite crystals in sprays to 3mm.
Location: Tom's Phosphate quarry, Kapunda, South Australia, Australia. Scale: Overall: 2 x 1.5 x 2 cm.

Aluminoceladonite: KAl(Mg,Fe++)[ ]Si4O10(OH)2  
Muscovite: KAl2(Si3Al)O10(OH,F)2

Comments: Large, 1cm, purple crystals of muscovite/leucophyllite, (var. alurgite which is an intermediate composition to muscovite and leucophyllite (aluminoceladonite).
Location: Ultevis, Sweden. Scale: 5x3.5x3cm.

Comments: Amber-like, long, prismatic, bright red amarantite crystals.
Location: Chuquicamata, Antofagasta, Chile. Scale: Crystal size 3 cm.

Comments: Aggregate of white, elongated crystals of ameghinite.

Comments: White acicular to short prismatic crystals of angastonite covering a dark matrix.

Comments: Spherical crystals 0.2mm of blue apachite as grape-like botryodal aggregates.

Comments: Aramayoite is present as large thin plates (blue iridescence) to 1mm in massive gray miargyrite matrix.

Comments: Sub microscopic grains of argutite invisible to the eye within sphalerite.

Comments: Deep blue, smooth, botryoidal aggregate of arhbarite in a 2mm vug associated with atacamite.
