Comments: Palladodymite (light gray, in two small grains), hongshiite (pale creamy grayish, tarnished brownish) in massive ruthenium. Polished section (from microprobe analysis) in reflected light.

Salammoniac: NH4Cl  
Erythrosiderite: K2Fe+++Cl5ˇ(H2O)

Comments: Orange-brown aggregates of erythrosiderite with sal ammoniac. Material from the 1926 eruption of the Erythrosiderite is hygroscopic and must be stored in a closed vial. The photo was made through the vial.
Location: Vesuvius, Naples Province, Campania, Italy. Scale: Picture size 4 mm.
